The Rat & Mole

A boat is never quite part of the family until it has a name.  At first, we considered the "Tippi Hedren," (from Hitchcock's The Birds, filmed in Bodega, just down the coast from us,) but we soon agreed not to tempt fate by naming a canoe, of all things, 'Tippi.'

And then there were a few other almost-names, but we finally settled on the "Rat & Mole," after the two main characters in Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows."  They loved to row the river together...

Keep in mind, we're not "Rat" & "Mole" ~ It's just what we call our canoe.  :)
